Fire System Upgrade
« Reply #15 on: August 03, 2006, 06:36:13 PM »
I'm slightly confused.

If the loop has effectively been installed into a box next to the fire panel full of zone monitors, and the old "conventional" radial zones wired into the monitors, if you make changes to the conventional wiring why is there a need for any re-programming?

We used to install such systems donkeys years ago, think the system we used was made by gent - big grey panel.

It used addressable bases and conventional detectors, there was no programming involved. The zone and detector number only would be displayed in the event of a fire and you had to look the number up on a written device chart!

I think Gent stopped supporting them as they didn't meet the then in coming CE markings etc.

Who's system have you got ??
