Italy - Fire Certificate Requirements For Commercial Premises
« on: September 19, 2006, 07:26:26 PM »
Can anyone give me a brief overview as to the legal requirements for Fire Certificates for commercial premises in Italy.

It is my understanding that legally, commercial premises in Italy cannot be sold unless they have a current Fire Certificate in place.

Any information (or sources of information) would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Not sure about fire certificates and selling premises but the Fire precautions (workplace) Regulations were the result of a European Directive which required all members to provide minimum standards.

At around the time the regulations were being finalised the Home Office produced a report detailing all memeber countrys fire standards, not sure if this report is still available.
With the popularity of buying property abroad It may be easier to find an italian lawyer, familiar with the subject.
Sorry could not be of more advice.
