Fire Hose Pressure Control Standard

Could any one quote a standard or rule that states what the pressure at a hydrant or hand held fire hose nozzle should be.

It is commonly understood that the pressure at a hand held device should be regulated to about 100 psi to allow the fire fighter to handle the force of water, but which standard does that come from?

Any help will be much appreciated.

At the risk of going over information that you probably already know, the 100psi or 7 bar operating presure at the nozzle is to do with the way that nozzle works best, (solid jet, maximum throw, fog generation etc.) When moving up from high pressure hosereels (high pressure, less flow) to the lager sizes of hose / nozzzles, the fire attack is based on the quantity of water needed to supress the the fire. The increase in flow through bigger nozzles brings the drop in pressure down to about the 7 bar level. This whole process, the optimum working pressure for the nozzle comes through design and testing, but yes, there does seem to be a 'standard' of 7 bar nozzle pressure.
