Test method for CRIB 5
« on: May 16, 2006, 07:15:41 PM »
I was asked the following question but I do not understand can anybody help.

Please would it be possible for you to send us the Test method for CRIB 5 ? Thanks very much.
All my responses only apply to England and Wales and they are an overview of the subject, hopefully it will point you in the right direction and always treat with caution.

Take a look at:

BS 5852 (Section 4 1990) Part II, Methods of test for assessment of the ingnitability of upholstered seating by smouldering and flaming ignition sources

crib 5 is one of the test ignition sources against which furniture and furnishings are tested. Crib 5 IIRC is the standard for residential care homes.
I believe BS5852 was updated this March but dont have a copy of the update.
