safe addressing
« on: February 17, 2007, 02:26:25 PM »
Hi all,

This enquiry is particularly for Gent trained engineers;

I would like to know how to safe address devices say in 3400 series system to avoid addresses to be mixed up when removing any head..., with the worst case where old and new devices are fitted in the same system?

I hope I am making sense! thank you

Hi There,

I would not play about with Safe addressing if you are not trained.

It can get you in a complete mess. It is also inconvenient if the customer wants to change detectors himself. He then has to know how to safe address a new detector with the old address. This involves knowledge of the soft address of the head.

I take it that it's a vigilon system with 34000 sensors as you cannot safe address 3400 devices.
