I am hoping to start up a cadets scheme in the not to distant future and was wondering if anyone has or is running a Fire cadets scheme and could let me know the level of support they receive from their brigades.

Yes try http://www.fsyta.org/ everything you want to know is there.

There should be no problem getting support from your service.
My posts reflect my personal views and beliefs and not those of my employer. If I offend anyone it is usually unintentional, please be kind. If it is intentional I guess it will be clear!

im currently a cadet leader for cfrs and nothing else so far. i dont really know about the setting up aspect but i help to run a course with 18kids and three other leaders. we work alongside the operational staff at the wholetime station. ir is a very rewarding programme as a volunteer and i know the kids recieve upto a btec level 3.
