I've just found this amazing new product!

It is a combined multipurpose detector/warning device/sensor that operates over a pair of wires:

It includes:

Smoke chamber
Heat Sensor
CO2 sensor
Electronic Sounder
Beacon
Emergency Lighting
PIR for intruder detection/lighting control
Public Address speaker
IR sensor for control inputs

I'd be surprised(

) if it was suitable for systems complying to BS, but expect to see it in a building near you soon!

Oh my God , this is all we need , spend to much time at the moment sorting basic systems out on fire detection , think of the possibilities on fire risk assessment is it a

As a gadget freak I'm strangely drawn but as a product I wouldn't be so sure.
The S-Quad ticks five out of the nine boxes that this has at the moment so who knows.

Like Wiz, I reckon it's pretty amazing and perhaps the future.

Mind you, I bought a Sinclair C5 fitted with an 8 track stereo cassette player, which came with a free Betamax VCR - So what do I know about the future??!

You bought the right stuff but the big boys didn't like them so conspired to rid all trace of them!
