Remote indicator's issue?

Guys;

Just would like to know; if it's a MUST by BS5839 to use remote indicators for hidden detectors say above tiles or in closed rooms and cupboards..., we have about 12 detectors above tiles... in some site, and some have been covered by thick ducts and cabling..., which made them not easily accessible. the main struggling point is that; each time a different service engineer is sent to site, he has to spent much time to find them and test them..., nevertheless if one of them trigger, it would be a night mare to find out.

I don't no masses about it but its for concealed/hard to reach detectors.

If the system is addressable then the need for remote indicators is far less an issue than a simple non-addressable zonal system.

For locating access to detectors during servicing, a label on the appropriate ceiling tile can make location far easier. This label could even take the form of a simple coloured 'dot'.
