Fire Wardens.
« on: August 07, 2012, 11:33:07 AM »
I know there has been some discussion on Firenet in the past regarding fire wardens/marshals and different levels of training that have touched on the following question but has anybody had an update on persuading employees to carry out their role as fire wardens? I have had a query from a college that has nominated personnel and trained them in the role however they are now indicating that they no longer want the responsibility and the college is having difficulty finding sufficient numbers of competent persons to implement their fire procedures as required by Article 15 of the RRO.

The college has recently lost some funding and I suspect this is becoming an industrial relations issue but I would appreciate any updates or relevant case histories. I am aware of the duties of employees under Article 23 but is it necessary to resort to the 'stick' or have others found more effective solutions?
