FA Systems

Why do some installers think that BS5839 Pt1 is for Cat L1 systems only and anything else is a variation? Doing my head in.
We're not Brazil we're Northern Ireland.

Talking of numpties, just recieved the following report on a break glass activation:

"This is the same one that was pressed on 26.09.12 – customer has been identified and stated he accidentally pressed in order to enter gym. Due to it being bright red and having GENT written over it he thought that men needed to press this to gain entry to gym".

Bearing in mind this is at a University I'm starting to have concerns over the future of GB plc.

You could 'whack them' and claim it's your contribution for Darwin Awards!

We had the IT manager of a computer suite find a black kac breakglass testkey lying around and not knowing what to do with it decided it ought to be kept in the only place that it looked like it ought to fit ...... the yellow manual gas release call point on the front of the extinguishant control panel, dumping around £10k of an inert substance ....

And these people have children .....

These people look after children -

Local high school had cross corridor doors fitted with hold open devices. on activation of the fire alarm the teacher looked into the corridor and thinking she was trapped with the class, started to push the children out of the windows. she also called 999 on her mobile telling fire control that she was trapped with 25 children.

Ah, those doors things, never had to use one before to get in or out.  I take it the classroom did not have a door either!
