FACE FIT TESTING EXEMPTION?
« on: September 11, 2013, 01:23:07 PM »
I have heard that there is a document (posibly from Chief Fire Officers........) that talks about some sort of exemption for face fit testing for operational firefighters who use respirators (not BA).

Does anyone know if this exists?

Many thanks

I believe this depends on the type and level of respirator to be used. Manufacturers instructions will usually be quite specific. For example, 3M do a range of masks for many scenarios, and quantative fit testing is required for which there is a test kit, the user of which must be qualified etc.
