Extinguisher Valve Standards

Hi peeps,

I'm trying to find the BS or equivalent for the spring loaded valves used in manufacture of fire extinguishers.
I have seen something but can't seem to find it. I'm specifically trying to find out what standards they have to be manufactured to for the uk market. I know there's a lot of cheap Chinese (mainly) stuff out there and am looking into their standards - or not, yet still get accepted over here.

You should try looking in BSEN3 which should state any specific standards components have to meet.

I've checked EN3-7 10.6.1 and 10.6.2 but its general not specific control valve  standards I.e. manufacturing standard and minimum requirements.

I'm looking to be able to place an argument against the imported stuff and show they aren't up to a specific standard so need backup.
It's bugging me !

I've done some more digging with both European & Far Eastern valve manufacturers and it looks like all the valves have to do is meet the Pressure Equipment Directive (97/23/EG) and thus be CE marked as a result - no other specific standard other than those for the actual extinguishers (EN3 and the MED)

Thanks Anthony, I've got to admit I'm struggling. One avenue I've  not had the chance to xheck out is the gas valve manufacturers. I know they have regs to meet but whether these will be relevant though im not sure. I'll have mooch around next week and see what there is.
