Hi Lyle this needs a full means of escape analysis to determine the number of persons who may use the exit into the beer garden, the number of persons within the beer garden from both premises by density factor or by previous history and licensing controls, and the flow rates through the exits to ensure queues do not arise inside or in the immediate vicinity of the building. Then effective stewarding to create space through the beer garden and away, otherwise they will just stand and watch obstructing the exit and creating queues, this will need to also be agreed and managed by the adjoining premises.

I would agree with that Kurnal. What concerns me, apart from the obvious fire safety implications, is that the project goes ahead with the nod from BC but a visit further up the line by the same council, different department, acting in the role of enforcers, challenge the whole set up.
Davo, the seating will be fixed. I now understand that the area will be under a canopy!
