retirement Sale! Portable Hot fire training rig

Hi all, I posted this recently under the training section but not much response, E bay beckons!

If anyone or anyone you know is starting out or wishes to acquire a portable hot fire training unit please contact me. It is the normal type gas controlled water filled containers etc. all fits nicely in an estate/hatchback or van. If you contact me through the messages I'll e mail pictures etc.

We are considering introducing live fire extinguisher training for key staff - such as those who respond to fire incidents.

A simple cage with corrugated cardboard and broken pallets would be used on a variety of sites (1 at each). Only one is in an urban setting - an industrial park. All have suitable open spaces and RA and method statement would be used to control the risks

Does anyone else use real fire? Any comments?

I asked for quotes but could not find an insurer who would touch it despite detailed SSOW and risk assessments.

When we've done real fire it's been real fire - a crib for solids, metal bin on a stand for 'class F' for fire blankets, and purpose built trays for class B with an old PC chassis for electrical.

It's far more realistic than any other method and it doesn't forgive poor application, and behaves like a real fire, unlike the gas rigs.

It's messy and an insurance minefield though and we are looking at moving to LPG for convenience, keeping the traditional stuff for high hazard training where it needs to be as realistic as possible.

Kurnal. I get my insurance through a broker Anchorman Insurance of Oakhampton, http://www.anchormaninsurance.co.uk
 Cost just short of ?500 a year including a ?50 discount for being on the IFE register. I include gas training rigs for that cost, understand the insurance company will cover solid fuel in a cage, worth a try.

I did mine through Sennett based in Canterbury they were happy to provide cover for the 'live fire option' for many years.
