Detection above suspended panels

I have been asked to advice on the need for additional detection which I hope you will be able to help with.

Imagine a room which is approximately 15m x 7m with a suspended ceiling.  The ceiling is made up of two elements suspended side by side with a 2m gap between the edge of the panel and the wall and 2m gap between panels.  The void created in approximately 3m.  On the "normal" ceiling detection is installed to BS5839.

I presume this will not classify as a suspended ceiling in the normal way so my question is “is extra detection required on the suspended ceiling or the normal ceiling”?

I hope I have explained this well enough for you all to understand.

do you mean it has two seperate suspended ceilings with a equal gap around both from the wall all round,with a 2m gap between the two suspended ceilings?

and the present afd is on the true ceilng in the voids created by the false ceilings?

and do you mean the void is 3m deep?

The nearest thing to your ceiling in 5839 is table 1 in section 2
