I have looked at some of the postings on this thread and am quite shocked about the points of view that people are willing to express without knowing exactly what happened- so here are some issues that people should bear in mind before posting.
1. there is an ongoing disciplinary investigation which will take into account all the FACTS of the incident in question.

2. This investigation will be carried out in accordance with the services' guidelines for dealing with such incidents(sorry for mentioning Guidelines)!

3, the investigation will not be completed until the end of August due to personnel on annual leave.

On a totally personal note, I would urge people to consider  thinking about what they post on this matter whilst there is an ongoing investigation.

Dear All,

Billy makes a fair point.  I think all the posts on here have refered to a hypothetical (i.e. what one would do in a particular situation, without commenting on, or making assumptions about the aforementioned situation).  Nonetheless as it may be an ongoing matter within the FRS, a debate on it on here may not help.

I'm therefore closing this matter.

Please, don't debate this matter any further, if anyone wants to discuss hypothetical situations and what one would do in them, feel free in a different thread.

Hope you can all appreciate the situation, I don't like to stop debates.
