Fire Warning Systems for Deaf People
« on: March 18, 2004, 03:54:16 AM »
I am chairing a BSI working group shortly, with a view to drafting amendments to clause 18 and Annex C of BS 5839-1, which deal with fire warning systems for deaf people.  The amendments will be purely for the purpose of clarification of the existing recommendations, some of which are ambiguous. There will be no changes in the intent of the recommendations. The purpose is merely to help maunufacturers and specifiers understand exactly what is necessary to comply with the BS to create a better level playing field and more accurate interpretation of what is there already. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any specific problems in interpreting the current recommendations, so that such problems can be ironed out in the amendments.
