Extinguisher Colours
« on: March 04, 2007, 09:35:09 PM »
I thought that extinguishers of all types in the UK were now red. They are in the school where I teach. Why in the quiz for kids on this site are the correct answers  the old red, black, blue and cream colours they used to be ?

The colour of the of the extinguisher is explained within the text below "Types of Extinguisher ( & Colour Coding)" and the pictures represents the colour code.

Point taken Firenet but I reaaly think that the pictures are too important to have them wrong.

People look at pictures first- thats the whole idea behind emergency signs and signals.

Our friends at safelincs have a number of pics on their site that could scale down or maybe you could use a graphic of a usage sign?

I use either clip art of red bodied extinguishers with a colour band or otherwise photos of each, quite simple. I can supply the jpegs if requested
