Oxygen Concentrators
« on: April 11, 2007, 11:48:58 AM »
I have a client who has a problem with a tenant in the sheltered scheme who smokes heavily and uses oxygen at the same time. We have explained the risk that she is running and the risk to others in the building but it does not stop her or her visitors from smoking in the area when she is using oxygen. My question is this, an oxygen concentrator/generator has been suggested as an alternative to compressed gas. I am not familiar with this device. What would the fire risk implications be for one, I am assuming that it must be the same as compressed gas locally to the flame source? Is there any thing out there that can be given to this lady that tells her how dangerous it is to smoke when using Oxygen?

You could give her this:

But I suspect she might not take heed of it.
