PSS 2000 analogue addressable system

I have had recently a strange and bizzar problem with PSS system, it was showing device 10, 11, 12 as devices missing I have changed them then auto learn the loop and tested them, every thing was OK. five minutes later the system reported them as devices missing again even they are not phisically missing, I have tesed them myself and the right location text was displayed in each test. why the system still seeing them as missing???

That the panel can display the device location text message has no bearing on whether a device is actually connected or not.

To check if the panel can actually see the devices, try reading the device analogue value from the control panel.

If no correct, analogue value can be read, then even though you think the devices are connected- they aren't! In this case and in the circumstances you have described, I would look for problems relating to short-circuit isolators or earth faults.

If correct analogue values can be read, then the problem sounds like a software glitch of some sort. - Contact PSS technical !

I've only ever had the misfortune to work on the Series 5000 panels and all I can say is if they are in any way similar pray for an excuse to change it out!
This panel used to ignore double addressed heads and monitor the combined analogue values with the result of detectors sitting at a value of around 40.This means that pre-alarms and fires were a common occurance (no room for a rise in value from either head).After a lot of detector cleaning and blaming housekeeping etc.I by chance happened to notice that the detector that I was holding in my hand was returning a value of 19 (which I thought was a great trick!)
Thankfully I didn't commission the system but shows the joys of autolearn with a not so good panel (in my opinion of course!!).

Finally, I have found that, it was the loop card which was gone faulty. The system now is healthy, hope so it still too.
