in my day blistered hands or very hot ears was the way you guaged if conditions were getting too hot inside a building. Perhaps a bit draconian, but it meant that we learnt about the dangers of heat etc etc

Hi Captfizz
There must be a lot of information out there but i wonder if you would have more success in the operational forum?
My own experience is that repeated exposure to heat and humidity in these situations can lead to sensitisation and reduce the threshold at which heat exhaustion and heat stroke set in until in my case at the end of my career I would faint after every hot training exercise.

Contact the BATC at Tyne & Wear and I am sure the trainers will be pleased to talk through the recording of redenning of skin, accidents etc.
Any views I express are my own and not my employers. Still confused!

Reddening of the skin is not unusual, but if it does not return to normal over a few hours it is worth getting it checked out.  CFBT should not be a challenge to see who can stay in heat the longest, it is designed to give us an appreciation of the situations we may face.  If you are feeling the effects do one of two things, change your profile or get out.  There are no medals available for those who blister or pass out!
