May seem like a totally bizzare and irrelevant question but.... why dont London Fire Appliances post 2003 feature brigade badges or wording to identify them as being LFB appliances?

Seems odd... is there a name change planned? .... have the LFB decided to scrap the badge?

I think you'll find it is linked to the fact that the fleet is now supplied and managed by AssetCo on a contract basis so LFB don't own the appliances, hence the lack of badges.

The new appliances being added to the fleet now have the LFB markings and badges and the ones already in use will have them added soon. Im not sure why it was but heard it might have been something along the lines of them being undecided how/ where to put the badges etc

As LFB dont own any of there appliances it was decided by the provider in discussion with LFB not to put brigade markings on the appliances.
Now the cynical view would be that in the event of any strike action on a national level it wouldnt matter where the appliances were taken too as they dont carry brigade markings, and we have quite a few appliances in london!

Does anyone know the definitive answer on the LFB markings?
Seems there are 2 chains of thought, 1 says no markings to be added (Corporate Logo + simplified crest or otherwise) and another says they are being added and have started at Paddington.

I have seen this discussed on other forums and the general view there is that they were deciding where/what to put on.

Has anyone seen this new appliance at Paddington?
