we have had new system installed with 12 nodes and numerous repeater panels, the system has been installed to EN54.  we are currently experiencing network problems between various nodes and repeaters.
can someone tell me if there are any known issues with panel communications and with the EN54 build of panels

I've always found Vigilons ok..... it's all down to the quality of the design and the installation.

Have you received all the commissioning documentation?

Was it installed by a third party approved company eg BAFE or LPC...?

The faults could be software, hardware related, or a result of poor cable/selection installation. If the system is new then call back the designers/installers.

the system was installed by an athorised agent, but we are getting confusing and sometimes contradicting information from them and from the service/call-out engineers, hence my question about any known issues with the comms and panels.

Brian
The friend I have referred you to will certainly be able to advise you but you will need to tell him details of the faults you are experiencing.

The networked vigilon systems I have been involved with - one with 7 nodes, one with 11 nodes and one with 4 nodes have all been stable and reliable though one did give us a lot of teething troubles assocated with interfaces to HSSD systems - the problem was not with the gent equipment though- and we did have some issues with the main panel used as network cntroller which were resoved by replacement of the main panel mother board.

Your system is a large one and I think you can expect it to take a month or two to settle down fully. With these systems (I only drive them but dont have the know how to fix them) there are very detailed self monitoring processes ongoing all the time and if you look at the log you may be frightened by the number of comms and network failures- but take a look at the time frames and very often a comms or network failure is reported and rectified within a time frame of about 0.5 of a second.

Hi Richard
The Strand would be nice if you're buying.  I will look forward to it, give us a call. Is the training e learning core business now or an offshoot?
