RRO v DDA
« on: May 09, 2008, 12:52:01 PM »
Has any members had experience or are aware of any cases/claims under DDA that involved fire safety issues?

Can’t go into detail but currently advising on a case where a person (self employed) in a wheel chair is claiming discrimination at some temporary restrictions on access to office accommodation outside normal working hours as that person is the only person in the building and currently would be unable to use the alternate exit route.

The building owner has provided ramps, electronic door release, and is currently arranging to replace a wheel chair platform with new chair platform with battery back up that will allow access to the alternate exit route.

I am interested in any case histories or determinations that have been to court and the subsequent rulings.
