Climac ZP3 Panel
« on: October 11, 2007, 05:52:50 PM »
Can anyone give me any info on the Climac FP3 panel?? Is it a badged panel or actually made by Climac.  Any technical info would be much appreciated.

I have been trying to trace Climac but there doesn't appear to be any trace of them these days.  I know they were trading a few years ago.

Clymac do exist: 01509 232651. Panels are manufactured in South africa by ZITON. The system works on a 'managed' (closed) protocol.

I hated them at first, the heads all look like somthing from the 70s but the panels seem fairly robust and easy to work with.

Thanks for the info. (It would have been useful if I'd spelt their name right!)  Anyway, I have been asked to carry out the routine maintenance on the ZP3 and I have never worked on one before.  Is there anything I need to look out for or is it reasonably straight forward?  Obviously the routine testing shouldn,t pose a problem, but are there any 'funnies' about this system that I should be wary of ? I am pretty familiar with analogue panels generally but this is a new one for me.  Any words of advice would be appreciated.

I have seen two times ZP3 of Ziton, you need the password to access the maintenance mode, if the password is not the default one you need to find out from the previous company...

Also for servicing, you need to edit the outputs ( Sounders and Aux. relays...)  one by one, and it shows you the reference or addresses ( alphanumeric addresses ) of each output, record them in a sheet of paper, then select maintenance mode where you can display the options of which output you may need to disable. Use the built on key pad to enter their addresses and disable them one by oneā€¦

Carry on with the servicing in silent mode, and to enable them back you have to follow the same procedure...

I hope this may help:)

I was told by a clymac engineer is to disable zone 50 this will disable all sounders then disable all relays one by one (write down which ones then it is easier on next service) then go ahead and test the detectors but not in test mode as you will have to wait to reset every time then at the end of service silence once then reset.Super fast service and you can then check the log to see which devices you tested and what zone it was. Also on the back of the door lid bottom right hand corner there is a little jumper remove it then the buzzer on the panel will not work so it will be in silent mode.

Hi

We use Ziton (Clymac) Equipment on a daily basis - would you like a copy of the manual?

Hi davro, on a ZP3 panel all output devices (sounders, output i/face's ect) should be assigned to an 'output' zone, usually zone 50, this way you can simply disable zone 50 to disable all of the output devices that have been assigned to this zone. just remember that you also need to check if there are any hard-wired sounders or fire contacts with-in the panel 8-)
