« on: January 07, 2009, 07:21:01 PM »
Has anybody been approached by, National Appeals Co-ordinator (Firesafe) for money to support a fire safety education programme called (Fizz and Friends) for primary and junior school children or does any body know about the project.

All my responses only apply to England and Wales and they are an overview of the subject, hopefully it will point you in the right direction and always treat with caution.

It is not a good policy to name an individual on a public thread, proceed with caution

There are constant scams going on of this type in which callers sell advertising in a variety of publications, wallcharts or booklets. Very often the callers misrepresent themselves - "Hi this is your local fire service- would you support us by etc"

I always ask these callers for their phone number and business name and report them to trading standards.
