Ziton ZP3
« on: March 19, 2009, 07:31:35 PM »
Hope there is someone who can help me out regarding a Ziton ZP3 panel that I have problems with?

The panel is badged up as 'Clymac' but is manufactured by Ziton. I don't have much experience with Ziton or the ZP3 in particular but managed to work my way through the menu to a certain degree.

However, when carrying out tests to detectors and MCPs I noticed that despite the panel going into fire condition and the points concerned being displayed in the 'View Points' display the Zone indicators failed to illuminate?

I first carried out a lamp test so know all the panel indicators are functioning. My first thoughts are either something is disabled or a jumper has been removed from the PCB within the panel????

Any thoughts Guys? Also if anyone has a copy of a ZP3 manual especially with details of the internal components, PCBs and jumper positions or any other technical info that would be a great help?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Even with my little experience with ZP3, I don't see why an internal jumper removal or repositioning may disable the zone's LEDs, what's the point?

The only cases probably where the zone's LEDs wouldn't light up is, through 'Evacuation' or 'class change' inputs, apart from that they should...

It might be the LEDs itself gone...   :)

Totally agree it would be a bit pointless but not being conversant with the ZP3 and having no commissioning manual just thought that it might be a point peculiar to the ZP3 as internal jumpers can be used to disable or enable different functions. As I said in my original post the lamp test proved satisfactory so the LEDs are working ok.

I did manage to work through the control panel menu to a degree, but I'm still in the dark as to how resolve the problem and would be very appreciative if anyone has any further info, manual or otherwise for the ZP3?

Any further help would be much appreciated!

Regards

the zone leds can be set to linked or mapped if set to mapped the leds need to be programed in the cause and effect this is usualy used on networked systems but its a setup option and this is most likley your problem
you would need to down load the panel to confirm

Thanks

That's very helpful information but in view of the fact I don't have a commissioning manual & I'm not conversant with the ZP3 I don't want to inadvertently alter any settings so think it best that I contact Clymac as they were the people who installed & commissioned the system originally.

If the system was not programmed correctly in the first instance then it will be interesting to see if they are willing to carry out the work FOC or will make out that the system was initially programmed correctly and zone indication is not necessary  :-\

Thanks Bro

The access codes were available so managed to get into setup but have no other info. A copy of the manual would be extremely helpful, will contact you privately.
