I have seen on several occasions a change in building internal structures which affected the FASs design… Say i.e. two buildings A and B, each with its own main entrance and FAS, but very close to each other. Over the years some rooms were physically part of building A, and used to be accessible from building A, the change in structure, made them accessible from building B, but their detector still belong to the system of building A.
The confusion is, when setting the system in ‘test mode’ and start testing at some stage you set alarm off in the next building... etc
The main question is; in terms of standards; how can we convince or force the customer to take into consideration this case, and spend the necessary budget to put things right ?
