Have any of you come across call points which are also the sounders? If yes, what types of build were they in and, what's your thoughts on them?
Thanks...

I have seen some of these. They are a good replacement for where bells/whistles/gongs/verbal alarm are suitable. Mainly because you don't have to stand in the building operating them. The key is whether the sound from the call point can be heard throughout. With some level of control on the call points (test/silence/reset) and hard wiring/interconnection with detectors, I have seen some that claim to be a grade C pt 6 system.

Used them mainly for site hut temporary alarms, they worked well enough where the background noise is low but wouldn't recommend them in place of a standard fire alarm system.

Piglet, thanks for link.
Civvy, GregC, I too thought they may be suitable for small premises or tempory huts/portacabins used for site offices etc. But, very limited.

Rafiki part one systems also have call points with integral sounders.

I guess you are talking about the modern version of the standalone alarms of call point. battery and bell/klaxxon first seen in the 60's.

Basically I treat them as electrical versions of the old rotary gong when deciding suitability - if linkable they may be of limited use in small premises only requiring Cat M cover, but are more suited to temporary uses and buliding sites.
