Hello men....

Am I right in thinking that in a building over 30m high all the mains supplies to the fire panels (networked system - panel per floor - 12 floors)  as well as the network cabling should be installed in Enhanced cable... regardless of whether the system is single stage or multi phased evacuation ?

The way I understand it; in unsprinklered buildings of greater height than 30m, cable systems for all parts of the critical signal paths, and for the low voltage mains supply to the system (whether taken from local distribution boards or not) should have enhanced fire resistance.

Due to the number of panels I'm envisaging a dedicated "ring main" or two to be installed by the leccy.... therefore the cable will be going up and down the complete riser.

David, I'm sure I could cobble together a cohesive argument why standard fire resistant cable would provide equal, if not better, integrity than other acceptable ways of providing mains supplies to the networked panels in your set-up, but if you are prepared to use enhanced fire resistant cable then there should be no need for any argument!

Thanks men...... I had the same thoughts but the difference in cost on a couple of hundred metres of enhanced isn't worth the argument.... just wanted to be clear in my own head...

So presumably if the same setup was in a building 25m high it would be "acceptable" to use Standard rated.....?
