Care Home training dummies
« on: July 25, 2010, 07:26:46 PM »
I am trying to locate some training dummies for use in simulated evacuations by care home staff but am only able to source the type used by the fire service for exmple.

Does anyoune know of suitable dummies or suppliers that could be used in a care home or nursing home enviroment.

Have you tried the good ship Banterboat> She is back soon from her trip around the canals.

Colonel,
We use a Ruth Lee, general purpose light adult version in some of our training.

Don't forget a bariatric version, really makes the trainees think and breath heavily.  I think that if they can evacuate a heavyweight the others are easy.

Thanks guys for the info I shall pass the Ruth Lee info onto my client.

Nearlthere, thanks for the suggestion but I thought those sailors were so busy trying to navigate the waterways that they would be tied up for a while, or at least they should be tied up. Did spot a nice bit of water in your neck of the woods that they could use as I landed at your International airport about 6 weeks ago. Shame it was to misty to land at the city airport, but did discover what a treat Belfast centre is, will be back to see more one day.

Colonel. That would be Lough Neagh. Full of slippery eels and would be ideal spot for Banterboat crew.
Yes, Belfast is fast becoming a very vibrant city and has lots to offer the winer, diner and culture vulture.
Thankfully we have left the dark ages behind us and it is now a must visit touristy place which is evident from the diverse lingos one can hear in the city. But as with any UK city there are still the yobs and tossers around.
Anyone planning visiting give me a mail and I will help you through the do's and don't do's and where to go and where not to go, what to drink and what not to drink.
