E/L LED units
« on: June 09, 2011, 04:16:43 PM »
Hi all

Came across E/L that is just a LED (green) in the ceiling void today in one of our new buildings (new in the sense we have occupied). 1st time I seen one of these. Seems the lux levels are good enough, just wanted any info on these types of E/L and how they fit with current BS.

Cheers

Would attach pic but file to large, but I am sure you guys know what one is waffling on about.

They are E/L - LED - downlighters.

Fact sheet at bottom of that page. Seems you can get self test versions which cover requirements under BS5266.

No doubt you all knew that anyway......

Interesting

Generally we provide a lot more illumination than is required (I cant read the meter when it's that dark)
Maybe this only just does it.

Saying that there are some very powerful LEDs about these days
