not familiar with any companies else where but i would advise not going with a National ,go smaller and get a better service if it is a domestic or small property.

I know Colin,

I have many examples!! And never fail to be surprised.

I guess the point here is the loss of personal service with the big boys on every level.  

Having said that the big boys seem to be very keen when it comes to providing new and Unnecessary equipment.

you should be able to have another company take it on ok then,same if the fire is non-addressable
