Think this request came up before BB and nobody had one.

Look at the date of the document BB - predates most peoples' computers so electronic documents were probably not even a twinkle in Bill Gates' eye!

Check out http://www.mace.manchester.ac.uk/project/research/structures/strucfire/DataBase/References/defaultOther.htm The post war building studies pre dates CP 3 Chapter iv Part 1: 1971 chapter.  :P

Hope I haven't upset anybody on the other thread "Thought it might be worth a mention"  :-*
All my responses only apply to England and Wales and they are an overview of the subject, hopefully it will point you in the right direction and always treat with caution.

I think this was raised before and I indicated that I had an electronic copy in PDF format.  I also have the prior edition in PDF format.  However the 1971 copy is far more in depth.

Hi I have just joined as I desperately need a copy of British Standards Code of Practice CP3 Chapter 4 - Precautions against Fire - part 1  Flats and Maisonettes (In Blocks over two storeys 1971, I also need early copies of BS 5588: Part 1.  I have an unauthorised flat conversion that I am trying to resolve but I need to try and find out the guidance that was around in the late 80's early 1990.  I have a maisonette first and second floors with an open plan first floor, there is also a flat at ground floor that shares the same common area.  Any help would be really appreciated.

I will email you CP3, as a welcome to the forum present. Dont forget the mandatory rules for means of escape document as well.
Have you seen the recent  LGA guidance document on fire safety in purpose built flats?

Which version are you looking for? CP3 was of course a British Standard rather than Regulations. Please feel free to pm me for more information.

Good luck - I've only ever been able to get hold of Part 1 for flats!

You can still buy Parts 2 & 3 for offices, shops, etc, but BSI insist on full price despite them being long withdrawn which is plain silly.

If anyone does ever find copies I'd love to get hold of them!
