Anyone by chance have access to Irish Standards IS3217 - 2013 Emergency Lighting & IS3218 - 2013 Fire Alarm Systems? Looking for maintenance regime for each.

I  have access to IS 3217-2013, but summarising the recommendations for routine and periodic testing a is a bit of a faff. The testing and servicing regimes run to more than five pages. Is there something specific that you're  looking for?

I have had a look at a summary of 3218 2009 and it is quite different than the BS. Is 2013 the same? Was just looking a general summary of the process and frequency involved in the servicing and user checks for both.

Couple of common issues I have come across when carrying out audits in RoI is that the builders like to take full advantage of false ceiling and save on the cost of another few rows of bricks above fire doors. That and AFD does not seem to be considered necessary in stairway enclosures.
It does make for interesting but very time consuming surveying.

Quite a stringent test regime, daily, weekly, quarterly and annual - certainly keeps the fire and electrical industry in work!

Not getting an annual certificate if you have defects is a nice touch, far too many RP's just having the testing done but none of the remedial so most of the system ends up u/s after a few years!
