Grenfell Tower Inquiry - technical evidence
« on: June 04, 2018, 02:51:55 PM »
Have only skim-read the conclusions, but there are already some interesting views expressed in this first tranche of technical evidence from the Grenfell Fire enquiry.  They also reveal some facts that weren't publicly known before.

...and the contents might also reveal why Mr Todd has been relatively quiet on here recently... 153 pages takes some writing.

There seems to be an acknowledgement that fire safety is in need of a unified approach. Good luck with that in our federal UK!

Todays Expert evidence on Grenfell fire submitted and presented by Dr Barbra Lane (Part 1) is well worth watching on video or reading the transcript, particularly any one who has any involvment in this type of housing

She clearly explains the the requirements of builing regs and ADB and subsequent changes relating to high rise flats since 1974 to present day.

The use of diagrams and floor plans are used to great effect.

The last part of the evidence, starting at approximately the two hour mark on the video, starts to detail how, over the life of the building the alterations have affected the building and as to their compliance with the building regulations at the time of the alterations.

This is a excellent presentation and Dr Barbra Lane is congratulated on the clear and precise presentation.
