Looking for a training video for Chubb Pyromet Class D fire extinguisher

Does anyone know where I can purchase a training video for Chubb Pyromet Class D fire extinguishers?

The video must be licensed to enable it to be placed on a company intranet for sharing with maybe 500 staff

Chubb have a really poor quality one on their website (and on Youtube). Its ideal other than the quality

I only know of the one you mention. It's so old it dates back to when the internet & computers were far less capable with regards to bandwidth so was a very low quality thumbnail video file.

Most of the Amerex Class D videos I can find are also blurry and old and the other US stuff using Ansul Met-L-X are no good as it doesn't have the same operation and applicator as the Amerex & UK models

This is the best I've found, whilst it uses a Sodium Chloride powder as oppose to Graphite out of a Firebug extinguisher for the purposes of correct application it's fine.

They may not mind you using it, but would probably would prefer you to switch to their extinguishers containing AVD!

The other option is to make your own, not to difficult these days with readily available video technology. All you need is a tray, a bit of magnesium and a Pyromet due a 5 year extended service and it wouldn't even cost that much then. Even if you had to take the cost of the D extinguisher, it's still only a couple of hundred quid.

I've always wanted to make my own video clips, all I really need is a big yard or I'd have made a load to put on my Youtube channel for free use.

I have already procured a professional video crew (with editing facilities) and some aluminium swarf/dust mix and am negotiating a location. I will write a story board and make some graphics next week. Plus as the storyboard requires water to be added to the metal fire, I need to run uo a risk assessment.

The only issue is lining up the small crew to find the weather isn't suitable. The only large internal weather proof covered space we have has ?millions of technical stock so although it is suitable, I am not keen on using that location!!!

Sadly my rather tight employer  will not be up for sharing the video which is a shame

If they weren't so tight you could rent Britannia Fire's facility - as they carry out fire tests for kitemarking of extinguishers they have all the correct indoor and outdoor facilities for carrying out live fire training of all classes of fire.

If you message andy.spence@britannia-fire.co.uk and say I told you of their facilities, he may be able to work something out for you.

If your rather tight employer was up for sharing the video the local fire service might be able to arrange a venue and crew etc as a joint training / public relations event to everyone's benefit.

To be fair to my employer (which I rarely am), this short 5 min video will cost ?2k+ to make when you take into account salaries, editing facilities and expenses. All this for approx 50 Class D extinguishers across the estate. But without a suitable ready made video on the market which would perhaps costs a ?150/?200, we have no choice

I have suggested a second edit of the video we can sell for a small fee - say ?70 - that may over time, pay for the production costs of the main video, but it is not something my employer wish to diversify into at this time.

The video will also contain technical/processing/production information which they would not want on YouTube, and my employer are pretty keen on protecting intellectual property rights, so I can understand their reluctance in sharing their finished video on any open source platform.  We will be sharing it with trusted partners, just not everyone.
