Fire Marshal Totals
« on: October 19, 2021, 04:53:24 PM »
Hi all
anybody aware of minimum numbers of fire marshals/wardens required and exactly where it`s stated? Im reading stuff like " The Legal Minimums - The government has a minimum guideline of how many fire marshals your organization needs", and seeing charts stating "1 marshal to every 20 in medium risks with a back up for sickness/holidays" but no where saying WHERE they got the info or the charts from ???  where might those charts/tables be located  :)
thanks  ;D

Am I correct in guessing most of these tables are provided by those selling the training?

There is no set legal minimum or scale and most provision scales and training validity seem to be based on one of the few roles that does have published guidance which is the workplace, the first aider.

The scales can be a starting point, but don't replace case by case assessment - one warden may be able to sweep an office of 50 where it's open plan single level, whereas one may struggle with 30 spread over 3 floors.

Perfect Sense  ;D
thats probably why I couldnt find anything anywhere EXCEPT as you say, from the people offering training, all I found was a whole plethora of instruction for Having marshals in BS9999  :)
So,the answer to the query is ..... Da DAAAAAAA ! RISK ASSESSMENT  8) based on whether premises is Low, Medium or High risk
