Gents / Ladies

I hope you an you advise me.

I have a number of Fire Wardens working on Various Construction projects all over the UK, All have had a Fire awareness & practical  Fire Extinguisher Course prior to starting on the sites, However What would you good people advise is the laid down recommended time before they will need to have have a refresher course they are all ok at the moment but depending on the time scales I would have to start thinking about new courses, All of the projects that the teams are working on are long term

Thanks in Advance
Stay Safe All

I would suggest that you assess there ability by holding fire drills on a regular basis. This would do several things including identifying there needs for further training and keep them confidant with what they have learned. Determining when a person needs further training is difficult as we are all different in the way we take things in and it also depends on the interest of the person and whether he/she has had to put what they have learnt into practise. Give them a drill every 6 months to keep them on there toes!

Ashley, Thanks for the response on this,

I already do weekly tests / training with the various Teams, but was more Intrested in how often they have to legally have to do / re do the training courses that they have the certificate for,  Once a year ? once every 18 months ? Any Ideas, As I can not find any thing laid down for Constrution sites

Thanks

There is nothing in any legislation that specifies a particular time - the law essentially says "often enough"
