I am currently compiling my professional application review to the panel of the IFE for upgrade from Graduate to 'Member' level.
I do not have experience of fire engineering on a daily basis (I am a risk analyst/assessor). I am having trouble with provision of suitable explanatory text for the following (I have had a good stab at it so far, I am not starting fron scratch):-
a) Provide a sound theoretical approach to the application of technology in fire engineering
b) Develop, review and select techniques, procedures and methods to undertake fire engineering tasks
c) Design and development requirements for f/e products, processes systems and services
d) Identify problems, evaluate options and formulate solutions, taking cost, benefits, quality and reliability, appearance and impact into account.
I have read and researched a number of publications including:-
1. BS7974: Application of fire safety engineering principles to the design of buildings, parts 0-7.
2. BS5588: Fire precautions in the design, construction and use of buildings, parts 4,5,7,8,9 and 10.
3. CIBSE Guide E
4. Approved document B, Fire Safety
5. Drysdale DD ‘ an introduction to fire dynamics’
6. A guide to the principles of fire safety engineering – IFE
Can anyone recommend any other books/publications that will assit me with my research?
Many thanks
Gary
