Chester Step Test.... again!

Any PTI doing the test should allow the person being tested to complete the level rather than stop them mid level, the software will calculate the best line prior to reaching the 80%.

hope that makes sence?

I would need all the hr readings for each level for me to calculate the score, the test isnt about the hr that you finish on, but the way your heart rate reacts to each increased level of exertion. Let me know what your readings are for each level, your max and 80% and ill wizz em on the computer for you to give you a rough idea where you are. obviously this will only be as a helpfull guide and shouldnt be used as 'leverage' for any future applications etc..... (back covered i reckon)

ok,

based on the presumtion you are using a 30cm step height the software gives you a score of 44 vo2, just 1 off the 45 minimum requirement for recruitment.

Basically whatever you are doing is working however I would suggest increasing the intensity of your training and also concentrating on stepping type excersise i.e. running steps etc...

hope this helps you.

Any chance you could do the same for me if you get a second?

My max HR is 193, 80% is 154. I am using a 30cm step.

Started with 84,
Level I 106
Level II 130
Level III 146
Level IV 174

finsp, bruceybogtrotter or anyone in the 'know',

I have been trying to improve my step test result for an upcoming medical I need to pass as the final stage of the recruitment process for a Wholetime job.

As you can see from previous posts you very kindly entered my HR readings onto the computer system to come up with my Vo2, I was wondering if you could do it again with my most recent set to see if I have improved and how much more I have to do to get my all important 'pass'!

The medical is fairly soon now so if anyone can help I would be very grateful.

The circumstances are exactly the same as before i.e:

My max HR is 193, 80% is 154. I am using a 30cm step.

My starting HR is:  83

Level one:  103

Level two:  114

Level three:  130

Level four:  153

Level five:  176

As I say any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Andy

yep, my medical is a fortnight tomorrow. I just wanted to get an idea of whether I've improved at all and how much I still have to improve to pass.

Friday will be fine, Thanks very much!!

Andy
