out of interest i take it 7 floors and the 2nd floor was node 6 then the network cannot have been wired as node 1 to 7 as recommended?
i would have had node 1 ground floor 2 1st floor 3 2nd floor etc..
but for node 6 to be on the 2nd floor would suggest that the wiring does not go from node 1-2 etc and it could be a case that node 6 has never been wired in to the network and it sits last in line and the other panels which are currently programmed as a seven panel network will be nother the wiser as it's a radial network and not fault tollerant.
the stand alone panel if not wired into the newtwork correctly and programmed to node 8 will be looking for node 9 or 1 which will cause node missing on this panel only and not a network fault globally.
The reason I said 7 floors is to simplify the picture to the readers, in fact there are: basement, ground, and 4 floors with nodes set out as follows:
Ground floor: 3 panels or 3 nodes, one in each entrance, one of them is the main panel 'node 1'
Basement: 1 panel 'node 4'
First floor: 1 panel 'node 5'
Second floor: 1 panel 'node 6'
Third floor: 1 panel 'node 7'
Fourth floor: 1 panel 'node 8'
How ever, Advanced technical support engineer said the networked panel can not reset back to 'node 0' only if some one make some changes manually in the settings through the built on key pad or uploading a different config file different than the original one...
Although, after investigating with my colleagues, who been in that site, as I have been only once. it appears to be that, the site is serviced by a different company on our behalf, we deal with call out issues when required... so one of their engineers may have changed the settings by mistake, and definitely not the tenant... so it seems that there is light at the end of the tunnel soon.
