Just down the road from the Ugly Bugs.
All my responses only apply to England and Wales and they are an overview of the subject, hopefully it will point you in the right direction and always treat with caution.

No its not died a death there is a fair amount of interest, the next step is if all those who may be interested can email me with any details of what you would like- geographical location for the event, whether overnight stay may be needed, whther you would prefer it to be a booze and social get together or if we should try and make it a CPD type event with the booze later?

Then I could approach forum management via Chris and others to seek endorsement and sponsorship when we have a clear picture of what people want and numbers involved.

Kurnal just wondered are we any further forward with this idea?  It does sound an incredibly daft idea but thats why its so great! ;-)

Not yet any further forward. We have 6 confirmed expressions of interest- thanks to those of you who have responded. I have cancelled the telephone kiosk I initially booked for the event but havnt yet booked the bus shelter. I guess we would need to attract about 20- 30 to make it really viable.

Any more takers- especially those still serving in Brigades?

Kurnal,

Book the bus shelter.

I'm up for it, daytime or evening.  Ahhh the joys of being my own boss
