hi!
i'm thinking about transfering brigades at the moment and was wondering if there was anyone out there that had completed this process at Ff level that could give me ANY advice? what tests, drill, questions at interviews did you have to do/answer?
many thanks for your help-much appreciated!
Benny

my brigade and at least another two I know of use assessments of practical skills for transferees, as well as tests of numeracy and literacy then interview.

i stand corrected, thanks for the info. i would add that once competency has been demonstrated in one brigade then surely the concept is that there is no need to test 'by drilling' - or is it that we're just dancing round the ipds flagpole and those in brigades dont trust it?

so much for transferability of skills eh! glad to see the dinosaurs still have enough authority to make people hot and sweaty while they mark away on a clip board!! i once failed a practical test cos i couldnt tie a reef knot, and i still can't so dont ask me!

i could really go off on one now! best not though, i do know another way!

I think the important point is the 'once competency has been demonstrated in one brigade' part. There are very few FRS that have any records to demonstrate that their staff are competent at present, yes the IPDs will ensure that they do in future, but not now surely?

ONCE this is in place then there should be no need to test a transfer applicant. However until then.........

Out of interest it is amazing how many people fail the levels set by those services mentioned, does make you wonder whether they are being asessed at present in their own FRS.
