I am one of those elf and safety persons who take short breaks in small hotels and I would not trust my family in a guest house with no protection from fire as it is obvious there is no regard for us the public buying a service from those owners. I agree with Ricardo why should we be expected to subsidise holidays at the expense of our safety. I did stay in one small hotel with "proper doors" seals and strips etc. and commented on this to the owner who said he was glad someone noticed, obviously pleased. Its a pity there is not a league table of the good and the no good.
