Can anyone enlighten me? Are all variants of the S-Quad devices capable of being programmed with a bell tone or is his only available on the speech variant?

I think it's sounder tone not bell's tone according to

http://www.gent.co.uk/newsletter.pdf

Also

But I believe they can redesign it to support the bell's tone and others as well, it is not that hard for their designers

"It is also possible to provide complex sounds, such as bell and DIN tones."

Quoted from the above link.

So in a school the bell tone can be used for class change and another tone/voice for fire alarm?

Very nifty!

It is the speech variant (voice enhanced sounder) that can have the bell tone.

The bell tone is a pre-recorded MP3 file uploaded to the voice chip within the sounder.

This can then be triggered separatly to the fire alarm sounder i.e. input module activates from a class change timer programmed through the control matrix to operate the 'bell tone' voice enhanced sounders only for class change
** Knowledge is power, I'm still working on both **

Thanks very much for the advice all. Big_Fella, sorry to labour the point but do you mean that only the speech variant can be programmed with a bell tone?

Indeed Rosjes....

We are a Gent Technology Centre and I have just put several schemes together with this very application.

In which we are utilising the speech variant for the bell tone.

For example in all classrooms we have a detector with voice chip which we use the 1st tone for fire alarm (sounder tone) and tone 2 for class change (bell tone), communal areas have a mixture of these devices with standard detector/sounders, as not all devices will require a class change 'bell tone'.

If you need any further assistance message me and I'll be more than happy to advise further if needed.
