Free fire related seminars and annual events ?
« on: September 03, 2008, 09:43:08 PM »
Guys;

If you hear about any FREE fire related seminars, expo., lectures, and annual events, please let's know, most of what I found are not free and even really expansive, a simple employee wouldn't afford if not sponsored...  :)

Thank you

The free ones are usually glorified adverts by manufacturers.

The cheapest way to get into a seminar is being one of the speakers.

IET i.e. has so many free events, in 'Savoy Place' and 'Hamersmith' one, why not fire related ones?

Hi,

I am a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators UK Chapter (IAAI-UK) and they do training seminars which are free (to members), sorry unsure about non-members and usually include CPD hours.  The only cost you have to pay is travelling expenses depending on where it is.  One that is coming up in September is in Manchester but others have been in London.  The sessions I have been to have been very good.

If you want any more info let me know and I'll see what I can find.  Hope that helps.

I was a speaker at one of these seminars. They didn't pay me anything. They just hung me on a wall and stuck a 1/4 inch mono plug up my jacksy. :)

Glad I could be of some help.  If you go into http://www.iaai-uk.org/news.php they sometimes have more info on the free seminars.  Currently they have info on the Manchester one here.
