Galeon probably chose his name  inspired by captain pugwash.
Prof., Is this really some veiled reference to Master Bates and Roger, the cabin boy?
Its actually a myth that there were characters called Master Bates, Roger the Cabin boy and Seaman Staines.

We need to shake up the grey matter, to reveal and generate new better ideas…etc, or at least try to understand the existings... etc :)

What else can be found in common, between nano-technology and fire detection technology, definitely there is something interesting in common!

What is it? :)
Don't really have a clue what you are talking about Benz, unless you are referring to the use of Nano-technology in the manufacture of some fire alarm products. (Nano = ultra small components)
Not a fire alarm product but it's rather fire resisting materials....etc

Brilliant, and very good try Wiz, indeed Nano-technology is dealing with particulates as small as (0.000000001 meter) in terms of sizes, they can be produced (designed) or monitored or programmed to do certain tasks, such as changing their behavior from state to other state, when they interact with other sort of particulates or environmental parameters like heat and oxygen availability... etc

These particulates can make the tissue of the new material..., and this material can be used to fight fire on its own...etc, and in that days fire industry with its standards will be radically changed...

It needs a serious research to explain what is what...etc. I my self don't know much, just an idea? :)

Yes it does require much research for suitable applications within the fire alarm industry. But its cutting edge research and is the province of university research departments at the moment.

I cannot see any fire alarm manufacturer having the funds to invest - but if anyone has any cash available to sponsor research my son is studying physics at  Birmingham Uni and I know they are always looking for sponsors for research into nano technology.

Yeah. I'm having trouble trying to understand the existings.

What about all you others?

Good idea Prof., my son is also at Uni and would appreciate some sponsorship for research.

He is studying drinking and laying in bed

He has got his degree, so he must be quite good at it.

He is now researching a Phd.

You see, how it sounds better, particularly when confirming, that even the existings are still not fully understandable.

We are here to play both roles, 'the teacher' and 'the learner' at the same time, and that's what will keep the forum alive :)

And what happens..... a manufacturer introduces a new fire alarm panel around 3-4 weeks ago headed by the marketing stragegy of 'Nano-Technology' and the panel is called Nano :)
