Stevo

Started doing this a couple of weeks ago
You have to delete all your cookies

In IE this is under tools- internet  options from your toolbar

It will log you out but you will still be showed as logged in at the bottom

Note to Chris

ITS A PAIN IN THE A**E!!!!!!!!!!!

As I look at the board there are 3 others logged in.  Does this mean that the other 3,553 member have gone through the painful process of cookie deletion, or that you might have a specific issue?

Happy to help with it if someone tells me what it is they would like me to do.

Chris,

If you remove the option of 'remember me' once logged in, probably this will sort out the problem... etc, this issue has been discussed in some thread, but I can't remember where is it, and/or under what topic...

Chris

This only came about recently, might be connected to your recent IT solution?? as it was about that time

for my part, it happens at work (IE) and at home (IE and Firefox)
When you eventually log out it tells you you are logged out at the top but still shows you online at the bottom
Will try it on opera and chrome tonight

Question 1:

What is the problem?  Is it that you log out and the homepage still shows you as logged in?  If so, what is the problem with that.  Personally I never bother logging out anyway, I don't see the point.

Question 2:

How many people are affected by this?

Chris

Same thing happens on Chrome
On Opera deleting cookies throws you out completely

Sorry, I don't understand.  What is Chrome and what is Opera?  (And what flavour are the cookies?)

Chris, I am also affected by this 'problem'.

What happens is you can't 'log out' until you delete cookies. Even after you delete cookies and the header changes from 'log out' to 'log in' you will still be listed as a 'user on-line' until you shut down your Firenet window.

However, I am not concerned by it. It doesn't cause me any difficulties to be, or even only appear to be, logged on.

The 'problem' definately started when you arranged whatever 'fix' you found to allow new members to join.

Chris

They are both browsers, Chrome being google's effort at world domination
As the browsers use different types of build it means the fault is at your end

I only ask because nobody else has mentioned it and I still don't see the problem with being logged in while you are away and at the point of writing this, only 3 people are logged in, which suggests people are logging out perfectly easily.

Hi Chris,
Same problem here. The "logout" button (on taskbar at top of page) takes me back to the main index page instead of logging out. Still logged in afterwards.

I haven't a problem with it because I assume there will be an automatic default "time out" on punbb as with other board formats. It's just a bit of the board that's not working for me.

Browser: Firefox 2
(OO\SKYLINE/OO)

Chris;

Just try to open new account for yourself, give it any user name and password just to check, make some inputs…, log in and out and try to find out what's going on!

Also try this; from a different computer, not the one usually you use, probably your software is struggling the IP addresses of some computers… etc
