Jewel Fire Products (UK) Ltd acquires Saffire Products Limited, making Jewel the largest
independent trade supplier in the UK.

Jewel Fire Products (UK) Ltd has acquired Saffire Products Limited making the combined business the
largest independent trade manufacturer in the UK. The acquisition is good news for the Fire trade as the
new company will offer stability, added value and quality products!

Although Jewel has had a bumpy ride over the past 4 years, it is now in a position of real strength being
well capitalised with new financial backing. Jewel has a clear vision to be the leading trade supplier of the
single source solution UK. They have spent the past 12 months developing a world class factory and
gaining relevant approvals on Water, Foam and Powder Extinguishers. Jewel has a wide range of quality
products and working within its added value solutions it offers add-on services such as provision of
servicing leads through FindYourEngineer.co.uk, Marketing support, bespoke product development.

Saffire Products Limited is an established business of 20 years, with an impressive track record of
providing top quality British product with some of the highest fire ratings in the industry. Saffire also boast
a fantastic Co2 assembly and refurbishing plant in Nottingham with large capacity.

The businesses compliment each other, Jewel has the ability to produce the high quality and high rated
Saffire Products at its state of the art facility allowing it to compete more aggressively in the market, as
well as a large range of ancillary items which will be offered to the existing Saffire customers.

Saffire has Co2 manufacturing and refurbishing plant to compliment Jewel’s new range of Water, Foam and Powder Extinguishers and the business is now well financed and looking forward to working with our customers in the future.

Nick Link, Managing Director says “This acquisition is going to benefit both sets of customers considerably
with product range, stability and strength; the business will be pushing towards sales of £5million in its
first year as a combined business with over 40 staff in the UK, the business now offers the trade an
exciting alternative as an independent manufacturer in what has previously been a one horse race in the
industry”.

It will take a few months for a full integration but in the meantime it is business as usual with no changes
other than the name change to Jewel Saffire Products Ltd. A temporary website has been launched at
www.JewelSaffire.co.uk to find out more.

We are developing an advanced customer portal website which will be available on this domain in the near future. The sales team will be contacting all customers both current and lapsed in order to discuss their business needs, opportunities and obtain feedback.

We look forward to continuing to develop products and relationships with customers both old and new. Be
assured Jewel Saffire is 100% focused on developing the product and service to be second to none.

It's not an advert, just a Press Release.

I don't even use either company.

Both are trade only so it's hardly going to generate them millions.

It's more to keep those in the trade up to date with proceedings & even provoke debate over the changing face of the industry - the fact it is shrinking with several takeovers in recent years (UK Fire buying the assets of Firemaster) & others seeming to disappear (Tradex) and more and more production going overseas (will Saffire's extinguisher range be phased out in preference to Jewels total manufacture and assembly in China?)

In the present climate it's pitiful to see the way production/manufacturing has delined in the UK but if you irunning a business which has ever tightening margins then if you can get it made elsewhere for a bigger margin then it's hard not to be business minded.
